Thank you! I know this sounds silly, but thank you for telling me I was not good enough. Thank you for making me think I could not live my life without you. Thank you for making me think that you were my forever. Thank you for making me question my self-worth!
You showed me what it means to take care of myself; you taught me how important it is to look at my mental health, and you also showed me how important it is to be proud of myself. Ultimately, you also showed me I am much stronger than I thought.
But what you did not show me was respect. You let me stand in front of a mirror and question my weight; you were watching T.V. when I needed someone to talk to; you showed me how easy it is to walk away when someone does not think you are worth the time of day!
I learned a lot by thinking I was not worth it. I learned that sometimes being strong is the only thing I have to hold on to. I learned that someday someone is going to respect me and know how important my self-worth is. Most of all, while you were sitting there making sure I was hard on myself, I was finding out how much I am worth it.
I can’t thank you enough for making me question my self-worth, and I can’t thank you enough for showing me how important I am to my family. More than that, out of everything you didn’t do—thanks for watching me walk away!
Lastly, thank you for making me question my self-worth because during this journey, I found out I am worth it.
Much Love,
Molly Francis
