Happy Wednesday friends!
I told you I was going to continue writing about the trials I am now facing in life. Those would include dating, living at home again and whatever the next adventure is ahead of me. After many amazing stories that have come my way about Tinder, online dating,
and so on, I found a pattern in them all. Today, that is what I want to talk about! What could that be you ask? Well it is the thing we like to call “The talking Stage” or “We are talking.”
First, what the hell does that even mean? Don’t worry, I will define it for you “The Talking Stage” is the moment you like someone, but neither of you will put a label on your “so-called” relationship, so you are just talking. But don’t worry this still means you are most likely going on dates, and for some of you (sorry for being crude), you are doing more than just “ talking.” Recently I was explaining to my dad about the talking phase and his questions were: “Did he pay for dinner, do you guys hang out, and did he kiss you goodnight? Well, if there is a yes to any of those questions, then you guys are dating.” I laughed and proceeded to say if life was only that simple! As I look back on that conversation with my dad, I realized something. If what we are doing is talking, what happened to dating??
So the point of this blog is to not only point out that we live in a time where we skip dating and go from talking with someone to something serious, but we need to start respecting ourselves in a dating world. If he is not willing to leave the talking stage, but texts you at 2:00 a.m. when the bar closes, where is the respect we have for ourselves? And what respect does he have for you?
As ladies, most of us put our hearts out there too soon (trust me-- I wear my heart on my sleeve, so I understand).
So cheers to us ladies, for realizing we are all worth more than this "talking" stage, to realizing we are more than a 2:00 am drunk text, much more then being his number one Snap-chat friends, and to learning to love ourselves all over again!
Much Love,
Molly Francis!
